Snow Day Fun and February Linky Party

We had a snow day on Monday...delayed opening on Tuesday...and now another snow day today...which means I am busy working on plans and materials for the classroom!  I just linked up with Primary Inspiration who is having a linky party for February resources for first graders.  Go on over and check out all of the other great resources by clicking the button above.

I just made an Olympic Opinion Writing packet (including rough draft and final draft papers and clip art images) to use for my February bulletin board.  We are going to read G is for Gold Medal: An Olympics Alphabet by Brad Herzog.

Then the students will pick a sport that they would want to play in if they were in the Olympics and tell why they like that sport the best and why they would be good at it.

Click here to pick it up from my TPT store!

I also just uploaded a How-To Build a Snowman writing packet and a 4 Seasons Poetry Packet.

If you are the first to comment with your e-mail address, I will send you all three resources for free!

Happy Snow Day!!

Hello 2014!

There has been so much going on over the past few months!  I've had a great year so far with my firsties (I have a wonderful group of kids again this year) and my first year of marriage has been wonderful (everyone said the first year is rough...I don't know what they experienced??!)  I had emergency surgery last week and I'm hoping to finally return to my classroom on Monday after three full weeks out.

I have a lot of new items on my TPT page...please go check them out!! (most are on sale right now, too!)

Looking forward to the winter Olympics starting next week, I created a Winter Olympics Data Journal to correlate with first and second grade math standards for measurement and data.  I'm looking forward to checking in on the medal count every day, discussing different countries and events, and recording using tallies and a bar graph the countries that have the highest medal count.

You can purchase the journal by clicking here -- pssst it's on sale! (And...if you are the first one to comment with your e-mail address, I will send it to you for free).

Hope 2014 is treating you all well! Cheers!
