Sight Words!

As Jack is starting to teethe, he got up screaming in the middle of the night and I couldn't get back to sleep.  So, what's better to do than work on some sight word activities?

I think one of my favorite games to play in class is SCOOT! because it is so much fun for everyone to play.  It is a great activity to get students moving around as well and I love using it as a type of assessment, especially during math.

I created (so far) two sight word scoot games.  These use the first 25 and second 25 dolch sight words.  Students have to unscramble the tiles at each of the desks and write down the sight word that they made.

Finally Back at it!

This has been a very exciting year and I'm sorry that I've been away from the blog for so long!  I gave birth to my wonderful baby boy on April 13, 2015!! Happiest day of my life!!
My boys!!

Now that my maternity leave is coming to an end in a month (I hate saying that...I have a lot of anxiety about leaving this little man!) I am starting to think about the upcoming school year!  I am excited to be in first grade again!

This past year I had the honor of receiving Governor's Educator of the Year Award at our school.  I am excited to get back into my classroom to set up for the next school year and to meet my students!

Check back here for updates on my classroom setup and beginning of the year activities!
